My name is Emma, I am a fully qualified Counsellor and Psychotherapist and a registered
member of the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy, whose ethical
framework I adhere to. I offer counselling to individuals who feel it is the right time to
access this specific support, I say ‘right time’ because it is important to be accessing this
support at a time that feels appropriate for you. Occasionally therapy can be challenging as
a great deal can be explored in the sessions but it can also be empowering and enlightening.
Many adaptations in life come from times in which we move through a feeling of
uncertainty because this brings an awareness to the opportunities that are available to us
upon getting past this point, leading to a greater understanding of ourselves and our
capabilities. My aim is to support you on this journey and provide a secure space in which
this exploration can take place.
I have an MSc in Integrative Counselling and Psychotherapy. Whilst studying I worked within
three different placements, a college, an independent counselling provider and a support
organisation for young people. Since graduating I have worked for a company offering in the
moment counselling support to employees and have also worked for an established
independent counselling provider offering individual face to face counselling. In 2021 I
began to establish my private practice, whilst continuing to work alongside other
organisations.
Before retraining as a Psychotherapist, I worked within the education sector after attaining
a Degree in Education. I worked primarily in a classroom setting and then as a Child and
Family Support Officer before pursuing my ambition as a Counsellor to support individuals
on a one-to-one basis when challenges in life arise.
